Privacy Policy

Ombré · Last updated 8 June 2026

In short: Ombré has no accounts and no backend of our own. Your settings stay on your device. We use anonymous analytics to understand how the app is used, and Apple and RevenueCat to handle subscriptions. We do not collect your name or email, we do not show ads, and we do not sell your data.

This policy explains how Ombré ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. The app is provided by Petr Schmidt, an individual developer based in the Czech Republic, who is the data controller for the purposes of the EU/UK GDPR. You can reach the controller at [email protected]. By using the app you agree to this policy.

No account required

Ombré does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth. All audio is generated on your device — nothing you listen to is streamed from or recorded by us.

Information stored on your device

Your preferences and content — such as your saved spots, drift and timer settings, onboarding progress, and subscription state — are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage. This information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app. Reminder notifications, if you enable them, are scheduled locally on your device.

Analytics we collect

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we collect anonymous, aggregated product analytics through PostHog. This includes:

This data is tied only to a randomly generated identifier, not to your real identity. We do not send your name, email, or any directly-identifying information to our analytics. Analytics data is processed and stored on PostHog's European Union infrastructure.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store and managed with RevenueCat. When you buy or restore a subscription, Apple processes the payment (we never see your card or payment details), and RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription status together with a randomly generated app-user identifier, country, and device/platform information so that your entitlement can be validated and restored across reinstalls. We do not receive your Apple ID.

Contacting support

If you email us at [email protected], we will receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and use it solely to respond to and resolve your request.

What we do not do

Third-party services

These providers process limited data on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:

Data retention

On-device data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Anonymous analytics are retained for a limited period in line with the analytics provider's defaults and then aggregated or deleted. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because our analytics are anonymous, we usually cannot link them to an individual; for any request, contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to assist. You can stop all further data collection at any time by deleting the app.

Children

Ombré is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

International transfers

Our analytics are hosted in the European Union. Other providers, such as Apple and RevenueCat, may process data in the United States or other countries under appropriate safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
